standard winter in Pitt, for someone like me accustomed to good weather this last years, has been tough enough.
The temperature has been increasing these last weeks and hopefully soon, the nature will explode with its already known feast of colors (this is so poetic!).
Anyway, I am writing today because, next September the first braves from Spain will come to visit us to Pittsburgh and, although they have already some plans regarding their visit to USA, it is a good moment to summarize what can be expected to found in Pitt and surroundings. Here we go:
I think that in 2 or 3 days the visitor can see the most relevant things of Pitt. Among them:

o Andy Warhol museum: The pop art father is maybe the most universal Pittsburghian. The museum is full with the most relevant works from
this prolific artist, throughout his career.
o Strip district: On Saturday morning you should visit the Strip district,
the most famous local market. There, you can find food from the most representative cultures: South American, Asiatic, Arabic, Greek, Italian. Diversity is guaranteed. Every product is offered with the peculiar American taste. To finish the visit to the Strip is highly recommended to visit Primanti brother’s restaurant. Their

Their sandwiches, topped with French fries, coleslaw and tomatoes are well known in Pitt. This is a traditional restaurant where long time ago, during the Great Depression times, miners and factory workmen used to order their meal before starting their night shift.

Also, visitors enjoy the incline experience. Long time ago, the workforce and poor sector of the population lived here. They had to take the inclines to go work daily. Nowadays, it is a recreational area with really expensive apartments.
o Sports: Pittsburgh is homeland of 3 important professional teams: the Stealers, from the NFL (National Football League), the Penguins from the NHL (National Hockey League) and the Pirates from the MLB (Major League Baseball). Any of this games is a life time experience so I encourage visitors to go to the stadium, arena or rink.
o Nightlife: Although the American nightlife is not comparable with Spanish nightlife (apart from NY and a few other metropolis), it is a nice experience too. You can enjoy the American way of life in cool areas with great atmospheres like Southside and Strip district.
o Shopping and recreational areas in our neighborhood: Walnut street and Ellsworth Avenue, in Shadyside neighborhood, are nice areas near our home.
There is much more in Pitt: Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Carnegie Museum of Art, Carnegie Science Center, Shelley Park, Cathedral of Learning, Heinz Museum, etc, so we can find other alternatives to spend your vacations time.
Great excursions from Pitt:
o Niagara falls: 4 hours by car from Pitt. Located in Canada, really near from the border line.

o Fallingwater: 2 hours by car from Pitt.
